Notes (Table 1): 

1.  The maximum operating temperature depends on the transmitter duty cycle, the 

1553 bus coupling method, and the heat dissipated by other IOS modules installed 
in the I/O Server.  The systems engineer must ensure that the ball temperature of 
the micro ACE devices does not exceed 85 C.  Our testing has shown that the 
maximum ball temperature is reached under the following conditions: Two IOS-572 
modules installed in an I/O Server, transformer coupled to the 1553 bus, with each 
of the channels transmitting at 25% duty cycle, I/O Server ambient 70 C still air. 
Four IOS-572 modules may be installed in an I/O Server if all channels are 
operating in monitor mode (transmitter duty cycle is 0%).

I/O SERVER MODULE INTERFACE FEATURES 

Clock Speed 

– 

Supports an 8 or 32 MHz bus clock speed. 

Local ID

 - Each IOS module has its own 8-bit ID information which is accessed via data 

transfers in the "ID" space. 

16-bit & 8-bit I/O

 

– Control and status register Read/Write is performed through 16 bit or 8 

bit data transfer cycles in the IOS module I/O space.  The u-ACE controllers are located in 
memory space and are accessed with 16-bit data transfer cycles. 

High Speed

 - Access times for all data transfer cycles are described in terms of "wait" 

states.  Wait states are minimized for all read and write operations (see specifications for 
detailed information).
