When you switch to the
standard configuration, you
can simply clamp, disconnect,
and cap the red luer on the Y
connector (as shown in Figure
5.25) or you can disconnect
the Y connector entirely and
connect the yellow luer on
the purge tubing directly to
the yellow check valve on the
Impella
® Catheter.
