Maintenance and service
All Sensyflow measuring systems are precisely calibrated for the respective application with our own ca-
libration equipment, for which ABB Automation is associated with the German Calibration Service. Exten-
sive calibration procedures, state-of-the-art production and testing procedures and continuous
enhancements guarantee that these measuring systems are operating over extended periods almost
maintenance-free. Only gases with moist impurities may cause the transducer to require occasional cle-
aning (depending on the dirt accumulation degree).
8.1 Cleaning the transducer
Follow these steps to clean the transducer or its sensor unit:
1.
Disconnect the transducer. Power to the device has been removed; the sensor is no longer heated.
2.
Dismount the transducer from the pipe component respectively weld-on adapter.
3.
Clean the sensor unit with warm water or alcoholic solutions. It is recommended to use a soft brush
or cotton bud for this purpose.
4.
Allow the sensor unit to dry a few minutes or blow-dry.
5.
Check the sealing between transducer and pipe component or weld-on adapter for proper condition
and cleanliness and replace with a new sealing, if necessary.
–
Standard version O-ring (55 * 3)
–
Special version groove/tongue flat sealing
6.
Mount the transducer in the pipe component or weld-on adapter.
7.
Switch on or connect the transducer.
The measuring system is ready for operation again.
Caution!
Make sure that pressure has been removed from the pipeline, before loosening
the fastenings screws.
Otherwise, serious injuries may be suffered due to the operating medium
emerging under pressure.
Caution!
Never use hard objects such as screw drivers, pincers, or wire brushes, since
this may result in irreparable mechanical damage of the sensor unit!
This also applies to cleaning in an ultrasonic immersion bath.
