4.2.7. Unpacking
To unpack the converter
Before you begin, check the cabinets for external transport damage upon delivery.
IMPORTANT!
If the packing shows signs of damage, the equipment must be unpacked in
the presence of insurer's and ABB's representatives. External damage must immediately be
written down on the shipping papers. Damage discovered after unpacking must be re-
ported in writing to the insurers and ABB within 1 week.
1.
Check the equipment, ie, labels and nameplates must be checked against the order.
If there are any discrepancies between the delivered items and the order, immediately
contact the responsible project management at ABB.
2.
Remove the top of the crate.
In case of foil packaging remove all packaging material carefully. Do not use sharp or
pointed tools to open the packaging. Continue with Step 7.
3.
Remove the front, rear and side walls of the crate.
NOTICE
DO NOT take away the wood pallet when moving the cabinet by forklift.
4.
Check the cabinets for transport damage and pay special attention to:
• Bent doors and side walls
• Loose or unassembled parts
• Damaged parts
• Dust layers
• Water or humidity
• Damages caused by insects or vermin
NOTICE
Risk of component damage!
Dust inside the PCS6000 can reduce the creepage distances and increase the
thermal stress.
▶ Only unpack the PCS6000 in a clean and dust-free area
▶ Always cover the equipment with plastic sheets and carefully remove when
construction work occurs near the converter
▶ Keep the doors closed and cover all other openings in general
