3.2.2.5. Generator disconnector module (GDM)

Typically the GDM is installed in a DLU.

The GDM has a motorized 3-phase disconnector.

–

Closed position:

generator is connected to the converter

–

Open position:

generator is disconnected

–

Ground position:

generator is grounded

In case that the motor mechanism fails (eg, due to lost auxiliary power for the GDM), an
extension spin rod can be used to operate the GDM manually. This rod is stored inside the
unit.

If you need to operate the GDM manually, be aware to turn the GDM

in the correct direction. A sticker shows the rotation direction.
