10.6.6 Releasing the door safety switch
The door of the AFE-INU compartment is secured
by a safety switch. The safety switch is tied into an
interlocking circuit that operates in conjunction
with the grounding switch of the drive and the
interlocks from the main circuit breaker of the
drive. The interlocking system ensures that:
• the main power can only be connected to the
drive if the door is securely closed, the ground-
ing switch is in position
not grounded
, and the
safety switch is in position
locked
.
• the door can only be opened if the main circuit
breaker is open, the DC link is discharged, and
the grounding switch is in position
grounded
.
The door of the AFE-INU compartment can also not
be opened if
• the drive is disconnected from the auxiliary
power and
• the safety switch of the door is in position
locked
.
If the auxiliary voltage is switched off and the door
is locked and cannot be opened, check the position
of the release dial of the door safety switch. If the
release dial is in the locked position, unlock the
safety switch as described in the following section.
Safety-switch settings
1. Release dial
2. Unlocked position
The unlocked position enables opening the AFE-
INU compartment door whether the auxiliary
voltage is switched on or off.
3. Locked position
Locked is the normal operating setting. To open
the AFE-INU compartment door, the DC link
must be discharged and the auxiliary voltage
must be switched on.
Unlocking
1. To access the dial of the door safety switch,
remove the cap in the control compartment.
2. Turn the release dial from the locked to the
unlocked position.
3. When the door is open, turn the release dial to
the locked position.
4. Reinsert the cap.
DANGER
!
Hazardous voltages!
Touching energized components can be fatal.
• Before you unlock the safety switch, verify that
the drive is de-energized.
• Do not unlock the safety switch permanently.
