Removing M-153SG Welding Shield and M-146SG Welding Knob and Pivot Kit.

metal spring clip, back plate (Fig. 1a).
- Unscrew the spring loaded knob from each side of the headgear, and remove the M-153SG Welding Shield from the front of the M-Series
headgear (Fig. 1b). (Not required for new installations on existing helmets.)
- Unscrew and remove the cam and pivot posts on each side of the headgear using an appropriately sized manual Phillips head screwdriver
(Fig. 1c). (Not required for new installations on existing helmets.)
- With the headgear upside down and the visor frame in the up (open) position, pull the metal spring clips towards the inside of the headgear
until they touch the back plate. Pull out to remove. Gently use a tool if necessary (e.g. manual flat-blade screwdriver). Remove visor frame from
M-Series headgear (Fig. 1d).
- If replacing visor frame or welding knob and pivot kit or new installation on an existing helmet, remove post from visor frame by placing the frame on the
edge of a table, resting on the post (hole facing towards you), and press down forcefully on the visor frame with heel of hand (Fig. 1e).
- If replacing the welding knob and pivot kit or new installation on an existing helmet, push back plate out from shell slightly (towards outside of
headgear) and slide out from slot on headgear shell to remove. Gently use a tool if necessary (e.g. manual flat-blade screwdriver) (Fig. 1f).
