Remove the connector from the port on the
protrusion setting tool. Use care to protect the
ferrule and fiber tip from damage.

Arrange the 2 slit jacket strands on the sides of the
connector. Route the aramid yarn on the side
opposite of the actuation cap. Pull the yarn
straight. Bring the connector boot up to the
connector body. Make sure the fiber is not
bowed.

Hold the aramid yarn straight in a bundle on underside of connector as shown in photo. Lightly pull
jacketed cable ensuring bow is fully removed. Aramid yarn should be straight but not tensioned. While
advancing boot to thread, observe that buffer does not bow. Twist boot two full rotations to partially anchor
aramid yarn. For 1.6–2 mm cable, twist the aramid yarn and allow some slack as shown.

Twist the boot final two turns. Fully tighten the
boot for maximum pull strength. Trim aramid
yarn even with the boot.
