MAC Addr
Only devices which are in the same
broadcast domain as the interface on
an RMON-2 agent will have the MAC
address attribute assigned to them.

Vendor
The Vendor attribute is only assigned
if the following criteria are met:
■
The MAC Address attribute is
assigned (see above).
■
The MAC address matches a
vendor prefix in the
vendor.map
file:
<installdir>/
TraffixServer/config/
vendor.map
DNS Layer 1
The top level of the DNS naming
scheme (for example,
com
).
DNS Layer 2,
DNS Layer 3,...
DNS Layer 8
Lower levels of the DNS naming
scheme.
Non-IP devices do not have DNS Layer
attributes assigned. IP devices will
only have DNS Layer attributes
assigned if the following criteria are
met:

Domain Name System (DNS) is
implemented at your site.
■
DNS name
lookup
is enabled on
the system where the server is
running and the name
lookup
succeeds.
