After configura tion, your P-660R U -Tx v3 can get a public IP in the wa y you
choose from Encapsulation types (D ynam ic IP Address, Static IP Address or
PPPo A/PPPoE), while your computer can also get a public IP through PPPoE.
4. Setup the P-660 RU-Tx v3 as a DHCP Rela y
What is DHCP Rela y?
DHCP stands for Dynam ic Host Configuration Protocol. In addition to the DHCP
server feature , the P-660R U-Tx v3 supports the DHCP relay function. When it is
configured as DHCP server, it assigns the IP addresses to the LAN clients.
When it is configured as DHCP relay, it is responsible for forwarding the requests
and responses negotiating between the DHCP clients and the server. Please
see figure 1.
