H A P T E R

Chassis Installation

This chapter describes how to install the MS-7206.

6.1 General Installation Instructions

Perform the installation as follows:

Read and follow all of the safety warnings starting on page

• Make sure the MS-7206 power switches are in the

OFF

position.

• Install the chassis as detailed in this chapter.
• If interface modules are not already installed, follow the procedure in the next section to

install them.

• Refer to

Section 2.4.3 on page 31

for instructions on making alarm connections.

• Refer to

Section 8.4 on page 63

for instructions on making power connections and turning

on the MS-7206.

6.2 Chassis Installation

This section explains how to install the chassis on a rack.

6.2.1 Rack-mounted Installation Requirements

Make sure the rack will safely support the combined weight of all the equipment it contains.

Make sure the position of the MS-7206 does not make the rack unstable or
top-heavy. Take all necessary precautions to anchor the rack securely before
installing the unit.

• Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to install the screws.
