MI-7248 Specifications
This chapter describes the MI-7248 interface module.
3.1 MI-7248 Front Panel
The MI-7248 interface module has 48 copper Gigabit Ethernet ports. The following figure
shows the front panel. See
Section 8.1 on page 59 for details on making the hardware
connections.

3.2 MI-7248 LEDs
After you connect the power to the switch, view the LEDs to ensure proper functioning of the
switch and as an aid in troubleshooting.
Table 11 MI-7248 LED Descriptions
LED COLOR STATUS DESCRIPTION
PWR Green On The interface module is turned on.
Off The interface module is off.
SYS Green Blinking The interface module is rebooting and performing self-
diagnostic tests.
On The interface module is on and functioning properly.
Off The power is off or the Interface Module is malfunctioning/
not ready.
ACT
(Active)
Green On The interface module is active.
Off The interface module is idle. When the management
module is removed or is not operating, the interface
module’s default state is inactive.
ALM Red On The interface module is overheated and/or the voltage is
outside of the normal range.
Off The interface module is operating normally.
