TIMING CARD SYNCHRONIZATION
Synchronization of the timing card should be performed when synchronization with GPS, or an
XMT, is required. Every time the GDP-32
24
is powered up, the SYNC program should be run to
establish GPS or XMT synchronization. If only the operating system was shut down by pressing
or the operating system restarted by pressing the
key, the SYNC program should
be run to re-establish GPS syncing. For manual syncing with an XMT, SYNC does not need to
be re-run as long as Crystal Power was not shut down and battery power did not fail.
To start the SYNC program, press
from the Zonge Logo screen. Prior to synchronization
the receiver should be connected to either a GPS antenna or to an XMT transmitter. See
Section
6, Receiver Setup
for more information about making the connections to a transmitter
controller.

GPS SYNCHRONIZATION
For GPS synchronization, start the program and wait until the signals from at least 4 satellites are
received (display line 4,
Sats:
). The Crystal Percent Stable should be at least 50%. Press
to move to the Use GPS Syncing field and then press
to select Yes. After a few
moments the Timing card will be synchronized.
Note: Some XMT-G models have GPS antennas built into the lid of the case, as well as an
external GPS antenna connector. Use of an external antenna is preferable.
WARNING
: Only
one antenna should be connected at any time. Connecting both antennas will cause a phase shift
of the transmitter control signal.
