CALIBRATION
Calibration is performed within each of the field survey programs. There are two board
calibration files required, one for the AMT program, the second for all other programs. System
Check and Timing Synchronization use the same calibration data generated by the CSAMT, CR
and TDIP programs. Performing initial calibration with the CR program has the advantage of
being able to view the calibration factors for the fundamental frequency as well as the 3
rd
, 5
th
and
7
th
harmonics. This allows the operator to inspect them for consistency across all the analog
cards.
1.
From the Zonge Logo screen press
to start the CR program.
2.
From the CR Channel Table, make sure all the channels to be calibrated are turned on.
3.
Set the frequency to the lowest frequency that will be used during the survey.
4.
Select the notch filter to be used for the survey.
Note: It is good practice to obtain at least one calibration set with the notch filters OUT, as it
will be the default calibration set when no other notch settings match. The quick system check
method uses NOTCH OUT in order to minimize variability due to the filters themselves.
5.
Press
to enter the Calibration submenu.
6.
Leave the METHOD set to AUTOCAL, and MODE to INTERNAL. Make sure the gain
settings in the Channel Table are set to 00-0.
7.
Press
to start the automatic calibration procedure.
8.
When completed, press
to exit the calibration submenu, and again to return to the
Zonge Logo.
Note: Pressing
will end the automatic calibration procedure at any time.
9.
When the calibration is complete, a system check is recommended.
