Safety instruction for machines with gasoline engine
•
Do not touch the engine and/or muffler during operation or immediately after stopping! These
areas become hot during operation and can cause burns.
•
Always keep the area around the muffler free of foreign substances, such as leaves, paper, card-
board boxes, etc. A hot muffler could ignite these substances and cause a fire.
•
Do not touch the spark plug when the engine is running (electric shock!).
•
Switch off the machine and remove the spark plug cap when:
o
a solid object has become stuck in the blades.
o
Inspect the machine for damage after hitting a solid object. If necessary, replace blades.
o
the machine starts to vibrate unusually.
o
you clean or maintain the machine.
o
you leave the machine.
•
Do not operate the machine indoor. (Danger of suffocation from carbon monoxide!).
•
Do not smoke while operating the machine.
•
Do not smoke when refuelling the machine.
•
Refuel the machine only in a well-ventilated area.
•
Do not refuel the machine when the engine is running or the machine is still hot.
•
Do not refuel the machine near open flames.
•
Do not spill fuel when refuelling.
•
Be careful when cranking a flooded gasoline engine, as long as the spark plug is removed, fuel
accumulated in the cylinder may spray out of the spark plug hole.
•
Be careful when carrying out a spark test, if the engine is flooded or smells gasoline wait or keep
a maximum distance from the engine so that a stray spark cannot ignite the vapours.
•
Do not use gasoline or other types of fuel or flammable solutions to clean the machine parts,
especially indoors. The vapours of fuels and solutions may explode.
•
Close the fuel cap again after refuelling.
•
Check the fuel line and tank regularly for leaks and cracks. Do not operate the machine if there
are known leaks in the fuel system.
•
Always drain the fuel tank outdoors.
•
Store fuel only in designated and approved containers.
•
Let the machine cool down before storage.
•
Never store the machine with a full tank close to open flames.
