Appendix A
Firmware Upgrades
Upgrading the firmware modifies the code that controls the device.
When performing an upgrade, do not interrupt the process or cut power to
the player – failed firmware upgrades may result in an inoperable unit.
In the event of a failed upgrade, the ClearStream player supports
Emergency Firmware Recovery
. see Appendix B for details.
Internet Upgrade
To upgrade the firmware from the internet, your ClearStream player will need to
have internet access.
(You can confirm this by going to “Extras”, and seeing if the player is able to
download the latest weather.)
•
From the main menu select “Settings”
•
From the settings menu select “Firmware”
•
Select “Upgrade from web” as your source
•
At this point the player will check the internet for firmware upgrades.
•
If it finds any it will display a message with a list of components that will be
upgraded.
•
If you are happy to continue press “OK” and the player will start the upgrade.
•
Do not turn the player off or press any buttons on the remote while the
upgrade is taking place.
•
When the upgrade is finished the player will reboot and return to the main
menu.
