TCP/IP Parameter Descriptions
Parameter
Description
NIC
Acronym for Network Interface Card. By default your NVR uses
eth0
to
communicate with the connected cameras.
MTU
Acronym for Maximum Transmission Unit. Keep the default 1500 unless a
modification is necessary.
IPv4 Settings
Obtain IP address via DHCP:
Select this option only when you have a DHCP
server which automatically assigns an IP address for your NVR.
Use the following IP address
: Select this option if you want to set a static IP
address, subnet mask, and gateway.
IP Address
: IP address of your NVR.
Subnet Mask
: Subnet mask of the network.
Gateway
: IP address of your gateway, typically the IP address of your
router. To set the gateway as the default route, select
Default Route
.

Configuring PPPoE
Purpose
This operation is necessary when your NVR supports access by Point-to-Point Protocol over
Ethernet (PPPoE). You may skip this section if your NVR does not support PPPoE.
