4. Manual adjustable head- and
lumbar support
Adjustable integral headrest (topswing)
By bending the backrest at a height of approximately
30 cm (12 inches) from the top, you can set the
headrest angle to the preferred position. You will need
to exert some force for this. The headrest movement is
made tight on purpose, to ensure that the headrest will
not collapse when you are sitting in the chair while in
the relaxed position.
Height adjustable, inflatable lumbar support
To ensure maximum support in the lower back (the lumbar area) your Fitform ZEN Care
Chair is equipped with an adjustable lumbar support. This can be located behind the zip at
the rear of the chair. Behind the zip you will find a round button with a bolt in the middle
and a small bulb pump. By loosening the round button and moving it up or down, you can
adjust the height of the lumbar support. When the small bulb pump is squeezed, air is
pumped into the support cushion, for better lumbar support.
NOTE:
Adjustment is only possible when the lumbar support is empty. Press the button
on the bulb pump to release the air from the lumbar support.
(if present on your armchair)
5.1 Kyphosis adjustable backrest
Thanks to this option, a kyphotic spine can be comfortably supported.
Delivery instructions for the kyphosis backrest
Undo the zip on the back at the rear of the chair. Lift the Velcro to
expose the mechanism underneath. On both sides of the mechanism
you will find two screws (located at ± 30 cm height, measurement
taken from the bottom of the back). Loosen the screws using an allen
key and position the angle of the back as required. After setting the
position retighten the screws. The other adjustable angle is located
at the headrest; you can position this by moving the head support
forward or backwards.
The middle part of the backrest has been manufactured using extra
soft foam.
5.2 Revolving platform
Thanks to the revolving platform, it is easy to rotate your chair.
Delivery instructions for the revolving platform
To prevent shipping damage, the Fitform ZEN Care Chair with revolving
platform has been mounted onto a base. On it, two strips have been
fitted against the revolving platform spindle to prevent the chair from
shifting during transportation. The armchair is slightly in the stand-up
position, to block the revolving movement. Protective caps have been
fitted under the skies of the armchair. These prevent the back of the
revolving platform from coming off the floor a little bit when the user
pushes off with a lot of force on the armrests in the stand-up position. This does not pose a
tipping hazard, but may lead to a somewhat unsafe feeling. This is prevented with the protective
caps, but these can cause the chair rotating a bit more stiffly than desired.
Please complete the following steps before first use of the chair:
• Carefully put the chair on its side (be careful not to damage the hand control!).
• Remove the 4 screws from the bottom of the plate using a screwdriver.
• To protect the floor, adhesive felt protectors (supplied) can be attached to the bottom of the
revolving platform, straight under the location where the wheels move across the base.
• Check whether the floor is flat. If you find irregularities, stick extra felt under the revolving
platform to avoid the risk of damaging the uneven parts of the floor.
• Return the armchair to its upright position and check that it can revolve smoothly. If this
is not the case (e.g. if the armchair is on a deep pile carpet), remove the protective caps
from under the skies.
Attention:
Please note that by using soft materials such as on the kyphosis
backrest, this can cause excessive wrinkling of the fabric.
