9.2 Perform safety inspections

WARNING!

Hazard due to aging and wear

The safety of the system may decrease with age and wear. This
applies both to laser and electrical safety.

u

Have the device inspected for safety once a year regardless of
relevant regulations in your country regarding electrical
equipment inspection. The safety inspection includes testing
both the electrical and laser safety. Regular calibration of the
laser system is not required by the user.

u

The safety features and equipment may only be inspected by
persons authorized to do so by Carl Zeiss Meditec. When
performing the inspection, observe the service instructions
issued by Carl Zeiss Meditec.

9.3 Replacing the halogen bulb in the laser slit lamp

CAUTION!

Danger of exposure to the hot halogen bulb

Touching the hot halogen bulb may result in minor burn injuries.

Before replacing the bulb, switch off the system using the laser
console key switch and disconnect the power cable.

u

Allow the lamp to cool down or wear protective gloves.
