3.5 Functional description
Pumped by a diode laser at 810 nm, a laser beam with a
wavelength of 1064 nm, the frequency of which is doubled by
means of a crystal, is produced in a solid state medium. The
wavelength is thus halved to 532 nm.

3.5.1 Safety systems
Safety system Effect
Plug-type connector for
remote-controlled locking The system incorporates a plug-type
connector for remote-controlled locking
(e.g. door contact). Laser emission is inter-
rupted when the contacts of the plug-type
connector are open. In the delivery state it
includes a shorting plug. Bear in mind that
the probability of an interruption in laser
treatment increases when the remote
controlled locking is used.
Key switch The system features a key switch for the
laser console. No laser beam is emitted
when the key switch is disabled. The key
can be removed.
Laser warning lamp This laser warning lamp lights in the
“Treat” work step and “Prepare” work
step when the aiming beam is on.
