4.17 STRUCTURAL MAINTENANCE
4.17.1 Unit Inspection
Inspect the unit during the pre-trip inspection and
during scheduled maintenance inspections for loose
or broken wires or hardware, compressor oil leaks, or
other physical damage which might affect unit
performance and require repair or replacement of
parts.
4.17.2 Evaporator Coil
Clean the coils during scheduled maintenance
inspections. Remove any debris (e.g., leaves or plastic
wrap) that reduces the air flow. Clean dirty coils with
compressed air or a pressure washer. Be careful not
to bend the fins when cleaning a coil. If possible, blow
the air or water through the coil in the direction
opposite then normal air flow. Repair bent fins and
any other noticeable damage.

4.17.3 Condenser Coil
Clean the coils during scheduled maintenance
inspections. Remove any debris (e.g., leaves or plastic
wrap) that reduces the air flow. Clean dirty coils with
compressed air or a pressure washer. Be careful not
to bend the fins when cleaning a coil. If possible, blow
the air or water through the coil in the direction
opposite the normal air flow. Repair bent fins and any
other noticeable damage.
Figure 28 - Z120 Condensing Section
To ensure consistency of performance of the unit, it is
recommended to clean the condenser coil at least every 6
months together with the other programmed
maintenances. This operation can be performed using
compressed air (direct from the inside toward outside),
with the help of a soft bristle brush, taking care not to
damage the fins. In the case the condenser coil presents
residues non-removable with the above described
operations (i.e. soil, salts, etc.) a washing could be
advisable. A suitable condenser cleaning solution can be
purchased through Zanotti. Always carefully follow the
specific instructions of the manufacturer of the detergent.
When using a cleaning solution (Zanotti code: 3ACQ006),
follow these directions:
a.
This product is intended to be used by
spraying.
b.
Take care to protect the body of the van from
dripping of liquid residual after the cleaning.
c.
Use 20-25% concentration at room
temperature by applying the solution on the
surface of the condenser coil (inside toward
outside) by means of the supplied airless
pumps (Zanotti code: 3SPM001) or pumps
that does not vaporizers.
d.
Keep moist the surfaces until dirt is
removed.
e.
Five to ten minutes waiting would be
enough for most of the cases. A light,
carefully brushing will help the removal
of strong dirt.
f.
Finish the task with a through rinsing and
drying by means of low-pressure washer
and light compressed air.
If needed, repeat the procedure twice (and no more than
that).
4.17.4 Condensor Mounting Bolts
The condenser mounting bolts must be torqued properly.
During routine maintenance. Re-torque mounting bolts.
Check the area where the bolts are mounted. Ensure
there is no flex or the roof or wall. No visual cracking or
breaks around the area.
