Do not smoke or approach accumulators with an open flame.
Do not ever touch the terminals of the rectifier, when it is connected to the power supply network.
Do not ever start the engine while charging the accumulator.
Before each use check the conditions of the rectifier, including the conditions of the power cord and the charging conductors.
Should any damage be detected, stop using the rectifier. Damaged cables and conductors must be replaced with new ones in a
professional workshop.
Before any maintenance of the rectifier is executed, make sure the plug of the power cord has been disconnected from power
supply socket.
The rectifier must be stored away from unauthorised persons, particularly children. Also during work make sure the rectifier is
placed outside the reach of unauthorised persons, particularly children.
Before connecting the terminals of the rectifier, make sure the terminals of the accumulator are clean and free from corrosion.
Provide the best possible electric contact between the terminal of the accumulator and the terminal of the rectifier.
Do not ever charge a frozen accumulator. Before you commence charging, move the accumulator to a place in which the electro-
lyte may totally defrost. Do not heat accumulators in order to accelerate defrosting.
Preclude any leakage from accumulators. Any leakage from the accumulator on the rectifier may cause a short-circuit and thus an
electric shock, which may be dangerous for health and life.
OPERATION OF THE RECTIFIER
Assembly of base and wheels
The rectifier is equipped with wheels and a base, which facilitate movements of the rectifier.
In order to install the wheels pass the axis through the holes at the bottom of the body of the rectifier, and then lock it using the
locking rings (II).
Place the wheels at the ends of the axis and lock them using the locking rings (III). Place covers on the wheels (IV).
Screw the base to the holes at the bottom of the body (V). Model YT-83060 is equipped with a single base, while models YT-
83061 and YT-83062 have two bases. In order to guarantee stability of the device it is required to install all the bases the rectifier
is equipped with.
Preparation of the battery for charging
Attention!
The rectifier has been designed exclusively for charging of acid and lead batteries (so called „wet” batteries).
Get acquainted with the charging instructions provided along with the battery and observe them. In the case of the so called „wet”
acid-lead batteries” it is necessary to check the level of electrolyte and, if required, replenish it with distilled water to the level
indicated in the documentation of the battery. While replenishing the level of electrolyte, observe strictly the recommendations
indicated in the documentation of the battery.
Charging of batteries
YT-83060
Attention! During the whole charging process it is required to monitor the voltage of the battery using an adequate voltmeter, which
is not provided with the rectifier.
Depending on the nominal voltage of the battery, connect the charging cable to the adequate terminal of the rectifier. Make sure
the knob is safely tightened and the contact is not loose.
Connect the terminals of the rectifier to the terminals of the battery, and make sure the terminal of the rectifier marked as „+” is
connected to the terminal of the battery marked as „+” and the terminal of the rectifier marked as „-” is connected to the terminal
of the battery marked as „-”.
Before charging commences the battery must be placed on an even and stable surface and the covers of the battery cells
removed.
It is recommended to remove the battery from the vehicle before charging commences, which will minimise the risk of damaging
the alternator.
Plug the power supply cord to the mains.
Set the switch marked with a battery and vehicle to the battery symbol.
Set the „MIN/BOOST” switch to „MIN”.
Set the switch marked with „1/2” to „1”.
Turn the power supply on with the switch marked with „I/O”.
Set the switch marked with „1/2” to „2”, if the voltage increases.
Set the „MIN/BOOST” switch to „BOOST”, when the voltage of the battery has reached the nominal value for the given battery
(12 V or 24 V).
The battery is fully charged if the voltage of the battery amounts to 14-14.4V for batteries whose nominal voltage amounts to 12
V or 28–28.8 V for batteries whose nominal voltage amounts to 24 V and if the charging current has dropped to 0 in the indicator
the rectifier is equipped with.
