Positioning the Drive Unit

1. Cut the transom on the cut line at a 90° angle.
Use caution when making the transom cutout.
An incorrect cut could cause the gimbal
housing or exhaust system to come in contact
with the boat transom, making it difficult to
mount the drive unit.
2. Seal the inside edge of the transom cutout
opening with a sealant to prevent water
absorption and deterioration of the transom.

Checking the Transom Thickness
Ensure that the transom thickness and surface
dimensions conform to specifications listed
previously and to the chart below.
