INSTALLING THE TRANSMISSION
1. Install:

• shift drum assembly

• shift drum retainer

NOTE:

• Apply LOCTITE

#648 to the shift drum

retainer screws.

• Turn the shift drum assembly to the neutral

position.

7 Nm (0.7 m · kg)

2. Lubricate:

• neutral switch

(with the recommended lubricant)

3. Install:

• neutral switch

WARNING

Always use a new O-ring.

Recommended lubricant

Lithium soap base grease

3.5 Nm (0.35 m · kg)

4. Install:

• shift fork “C”

• shift fork “L”

• shift fork “R”

• shift fork guide bars

NOTE:

The embossed marks on the shift forks should
face towards the right side of the engine and
be in the following sequence: “R”, “C”, “L”.
