SIGNALING SYSTEM

The neutral indicator light fails to come on.

The oil pressure warning light fails to come on when the main switch is set to “ON”.

The oil pressure warning light remains on after the engine is started.

1. Check the neutral switch.

Refer to “CHECKING THE

SWITCHES” on page 8-191.



Replace the neutral switch.



2. Check the relay unit (diode).

Refer to “CHECKING THE RELAY

UNIT (DIODE)” on page 8-199.



Replace the relay unit.



3. Check the entire signaling system’s

wiring.

Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM” on

page 8-21.



Properly connect or repair the signaling

system’s wiring.



Replace the meter assembly.

1. Check the entire signaling system’s

wiring.

Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM” on

page 8-21.



Properly connect or replace the wiring har-

ness.



2. Disconnect the oil pressure switch

lead from the oil pressure switch,

and then check whether the oil pres-

sure warning light comes on when

the lead is connected to the engine

ground.



Replace the meter assembly.



Replace the oil pressure switch.

1. Check the entire signaling system’s

wiring.

Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM” on

page 8-21.



Properly connect or replace the wiring har-

ness.



2. Measure the engine oil pressure.

Refer to “MEASURING THE

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE” on page

3-27.



Check the engine oil leakage, oil viscosity,

oil seal, oil filter, or oil pump.



Replace the oil pressure switch.
