Cylinder block
b. Apply a thin, even layer of sealant onto the
mating surface of the crankcase.
TIP:
• Install the crankshaft journal bearings “1” into
the crankcase in the same positions as the
crankshaft journal bearings in the cylinder
block.
• Install the crankshaft journal bearings “1” in
their original positions.
• Do not apply any sealant to the crankshaft
journal bearings “1”.
c. Install the crankcase “1”, and then tighten
the crankcase bolts (M8) “2” to the speci-
fied torques in 2 stages and in the order
[1], [2], and so on.
d. Tighten the crankcase bolts (M6) “3” to the
specified torques in 2 stages and in the or-
der [9], [10], and so on.
TIP:
After tightening the crankcase bolts “2” and “3”,
make sure that the crankshaft turns smoothly.

2nd: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 8.9 lb·ft)
