Operating Manual
Menu Mode
142 VOX SELECT
Function: Selects the function of the VOX operation.
Available Values: MIC/DATA
Default Setting: MIC
Description: Selects the function of the VOX operation.
MIC: Operates via input from the
MIC
jack (mi-
crophone).
DATA: Operates via input from the
RTTY/DATA
or
USB
jack.
143 VOX GAIN
Function: Sets the VOX gain.
Available Values: 0 - 100
Default Setting: 50
Description: Sets the operation sensitivity of the VOX
circuit. “
1
” represents the minimum sensi-
tivity and “
100
” represents the maximum
sensitivity. The VOX operation sensitivity
may be adjusted while transmitting the sig-
nal.
144 VOX DELAY
Function: Sets the VOX delay time.
Available Values: 30 - 3000 msec (10 msec/step)
Default Setting: 500 msec
Description: While operating VOX, the recovery time
(delay time) before returning to receive
mode from transmit mode may be set at 10
msec intervals. The delay time may be ad-
justed while transmitting the signal.
145 ANTI VOX GAIN
Function: Sets the VOX anti-trip.
Available Values: 0 - 100
Default Setting: 50
Description: The sensitivity of the anti-trip circuit may
be adjusted so that the VOX circuit does
not accidently engage due to the sounds
from the transceiver speaker. Increase the
anti-trip value to the point that sounds from
the transceiver speaker do not engage the
transmitter while using VOX operation.
146 DATA VOX GAIN
Function: Sets the VOX GAIN while operating VOX
during the sending/receiving of data (PSK31,
RTTY, etc.).
Available Values: 0 - 100
Default Setting: 50
Description: Set the data input VOX gain to the point
that the data signal reliably engages the
transmitter, and also releases the transmit
when there is no data signal.
147 DATA VOX DELAY
Function: Sets the VOX DELAY time while operating
VOX during the sending/receiving of data
(PSK31, RTTY, etc.).
Available Values: 30msec - 3000msec
Default Setting: 100msec
148 ANTI DVOX GAIN
Function: Sets the data VOX ant-trip.
Available Values: 0 - 100
Default Setting: 0
Description: The sensitivity of the anti-trip circuit may
be adjusted so that the VOX circuit does
not accidently engage due to the received
data while operating VOX. Increase the
setting to a value that the VOX circuit does
not engage due to the received data (the
higher the value the greater the operation
sensitivity).
149 EMERGENCY FREQ TX
Function: Enables TX/RX operation on the Alaska
Emergency Channel, 5167.5kHz.
Available Values: ENABLE/DISABLE
Default Setting: DISABLE
Description: When this Menu Item is set to ENABLE,
the spot frequency of 5167.5 kHz will be
enabled. The Alaska Emergency Channel
will be fount between the PMS memory
channel “
P-9U
” and the memory channel
“
01
”.
Important
: The use of this frequency is restricted to
stations operating in or near Alaska, and
only for emergency purposes (never for
routine operations).
See §97.401(c) of the FCC regulations.
150 PRT/WIRES FREQ
Function: Select the operating frequency setting method
when connecting to a local node.
Available Values: MANUAL/PRESET
Default Setting: MANUAL
Description:
MANUAL: Manually set the frequency to access
the local node.
PRESET: Access the local node by selecting a
preset frequency channel.
151 PRESET FREQUENCY
Function: Presetting (registering frequency channels in
advance) permits convenient connection to lo-
cal nodes.
Available Values: -
Default Setting: 145.375.00/146.550.00 (USA version)
