INSTALLATION

4.1 INTRODUCTION

This chapter provides the information necessary to install the XVME-682 PC/AT Processor

Module into the VMEbus backplane.
Xycom modules are designed to comply with all physical and electrical VMEbus backplane

specifications. The XVME-682 is a double-high, two-board VMEbus module. As such, it

requires two slots and both the P1 and P2 connections.
Prior to installing a module, you should determine and verify all relevant jumper

configurations, and all connections to external devices or power supplies. Jumper

configuration information for the CPU and I/O boards can be found in Chapters 2 and 3

respectively.
