3.3 JUMPERS
Prior to installing the XVME-682 I/O module, several jumper and switch options must be
configured. The configurations of the jumpers and switches are dependent upon the module
capabilities required for a particular application. Appendix B contains information depicting
the default (shipped) configurations for each module version.
3.3.1 Floppy Drive Controller Address
Jumper J1 controls which address range the floppy drive controller will occupy. Setting J1 to
A will use the secondary address of 372 to 377H. Setting it to B will use the primary address
of 3F2 to 3F7H. PC/AT default is B.
3.3.2 Hard Drive Controller Address
Jumper J2 controls which address range the floppy drive controller will occupy. Setting J1 to
A will use the secondary address of 170 to 177H. Setting it to B will use the primary address
of 1F0 to 1F7H. PC/AT default is B.

latched. The jumper OUT will mean the Status Read is not latched (this option is used with
the Compaq 286). The PC/AT default is IN.
