6 API ACCESS:
6.1 Web API
XOLTA can provide access to receive BESS telemetry data and control a device/battery directly by using the
Cloud API. Please contact
for further information on API access. A written agreement
will need to be made to receive access. The Web API is a set of REST endpoints provided to give users access
to the battery data via the Cloud services.
It is not necessary to open any ports in a firewall to gain access to monitor or control the battery device
behind a firewall.
The API provides the possibility of sending commands to a device, interrogating device/site status and
receiving historical telemetry data for the system. The available resolution of historical data is 10s without
statistics and [1, 10 and 60] minute resolutions.
The table below provides a list of typical telemetry signals that are available to query over the API.

metry signals
A reference manual for access and use of the cloud API can be provided on request by writing to
.
6.2 Local control via Modbus
Local control of the battery rack is also provided via MODBUS TCP or MODBUS RTU. Dependent on the
application and use of the battery rack different features can be provided in the corresponding Modbus MAP.
The battery rack needs to be configured with a static IP address or to use a reserved IP address via its
MAC address.
When not using Modbus TCP, the battery rack is configured with a dynamic IP address provided by the router
that creates the Local Area Network.
To activate MODBUS TCP server in the battery rack controller, please contact
to get
advice on which Modbus map to use and to get the system configured.
