Regenerative Resistor

When the servo motor operates in generator mode, power is returned to the servo drive
side. This is called regenerative power. The regenerative power is absorbed by charging
the smoothing capacitor, but when the capacitor’s charging limit is exceeded, the
regenerative power needs to be reduced by the regenerative resistor.
The servomotor is driven in regeneration (generator) mode in the following conditions:



From decelerating to stop for acceleration/deceleration operation.



Move down on the vertical axis.



The external load drives the motor running

short  jumper  between  P+  and  D.  External
regenerative  resistor  is  40Ω  to  50Ω,  100W  to
200W.  This  resistor  needs  to  purchase.
P0-10=1.

DS2-22P3-AS/AS6
DS2-43P0-AS/AS6

Internal

regenerative

resistor    is  75Ω/200W,
short  connect  P+  and  D,
disconnect  P+  and  C.
P0-10=0.

Connect  the  resistor  to  P+  and  C,  move  the
short  jumper  between  P+  and  D.  External
regenerative  resistor  is  40Ω  to  50Ω,  300W  to
500W.  This  resistor  needs  to  purchase.
P0-10=1.

The temperature will be very high when the regenerative resistor is discharging, please
using heat-resistant non-flammable wire. Don’t touch the regenerative resistor when
wiring.
