SNMP
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a set of network protocols designed to allow you to
manage and monitor devices on your network.
You can use the SNMP configuration pages in CentreWare Internet Services to:
•
Enable or disable Authentication Failure Generic Traps.
•
Enable SNMPv3 to create an encrypted channel for secure printer management.
•
Assign privacy, authentication protocols, and keys to Administrative and key user accounts.
•
Assign read and write access to User accounts.
•
Limit SNMP access to the printer using hosts.
Enabling SNMP
1.
In CentreWare Internet Services, click
Properties
>
Connectivity
>
Protocols
.
2.
Click
SNMP
.
3.
For Protocol, select
Enable
.
4.
Click
Apply
.
Configuring SNMP Advanced Settings
You can add, edit, or delete IP and IPX addresses for Network Management workstations that receive
traps from the printer.
Configuring SNMP Advanced Settings
1.
In CentreWare Internet Services, click
Properties
>
Connectivity
>
Protocols
.
2.
Click
SNMP
.
3.
Click
Add IP Address
.
4.
For IP Trap Destination Address, type the IP address of the host running the SNMP manager that
receives traps.
5.
Type the UDP Port Number.
6.
To add the traps, perform the following steps.
−
Under TRAP Community Name, type a name.
−
Select the type of traps that the SNMP manager receives under Traps to be Received.
7.
Click
Apply
