Appendix C Print Utility
Remarks
Lossy compression. Job is very complexed, display list
takes up too much memory or decomposer will perform
lossy compression. Job can still be printed but image
cannot be guaranteed.
Treatment: Increase the PCL memory and print again.
Pages are broken due to memory shortage. This typically
happens when the PCL memory has already been
consumed for other purposes leaving little memory to
format the page. This leads to the situation where the
pages have to be broken mid-way and page data are
printed in many pages and image loss will occur.
Treatment: Increase the PCL memory and print again.
Printed when there is a PCL XL syntax error like
"IllegalAttribute", "IllegalAttributeCombination". If there
are more than one PCL XL syntax errors in the same job,
only the first error encountered will be logged in. The
maximum length of the PCL XL error code is 31 bytes.
Printed when there is a PJL command with syntax error. For
example, if the invalid command, "@PJL JOBINFOX
JOBNAME = ABCDEFGHIJKLMN" is ordered to printer,
the printing status should display the following:
PJL Error (JOBINFOX JOBNAME = ABCDEFGHIJK)
The PJL prefix - @PJL - will not be included and the
maximum length is 31 bytes. The PJL syntax error falls
into three categories:
1. unrecognised commands and command modifiers;
2. unsupported option; &
3. out-of-range value.
The result of the printing is shown on the next page.
