Both O
ffset control
and G
ain control
can be toggled between
Automatic
and
Manual
modes.
In A
utomatic
mode the algorithm will dynamically adjust the gain and offset values based
on the histogram of the scene. Every specified number of frames a new gain and offset
value is calculated and applied. This automatic value update can be disabled using
Auto
gain control
– Auto mode update.
The parameters for this mode can be found in
Auto gain
control
– Auto mode control
.
In
Manual
mode you can manually define the gain and offset values used. The parameters
for this can be found in
Auto gain control
– Manual mode control
.
For a detailed technical explanation on the capabilities and various options of the gain and
offset control functionality, please refer to the AutoGain Control manual

folder on the USB drive.
Black hot control
Image processing control
– Black hot control
allows you to invert the pixel values. This
provides better human perception of low IR emission objects in the scene. This algorithm is
always applied as the final image processing step.
If
Black hot control
– Enable
is
True
, it performs a simple mathematical inversion on each
pixel value:
𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑒 = |𝑜𝑙𝑑 𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑒 − 2

.
