Chapter 11 Transporting and loading crane

11-1 Notes on railroad
transportation

1. Research the requirements of railway

transportation in the country, which the crane

may pass through, to see if it is suitable;

2. T h e c r a n e c a n b e t r a n s p o r t e d o n

railway flat-car;

3. Block the crane wheels with wood

wedges or cement blocks;

4. Tie the crane and the flat-car with ropes

tightly;

5. All control levers and switches of the

crane must be in neutral and OFF position;

6. After loading the crane, lock all the

doors and windows to prevent opening during

transportation.

Different method of transporting crane

should be selected according to the actual

situation; the gravity center of the whole vehicle

is 2367 mm away from the slewing center, 2123

mm from the ground, 50 mm away from the

center line of frame, and overall weight is 72 t.

11-2 Notes on road transportation

1. The crane is allowed to travel on the

road;

2. The relevant transportation laws should

be observed when the crane travels on the road;

3. The control levers of superstructure

and chassis should be kept in neutral and the

power switch should be in OFF position.
