Function
The holes for the locating bolt and indexing cylinder pins in the base plate are made in a
unique half shell shape.
This makes it possible to clamp the respective components quickly and truly aligned to the
base plate.
By operating the clamping screw
-a-
(approx. 4 turns) the clamping bolt
-b-
is pushed into the
locking groove
-c-
of the locating bolt. In this way the locating bolt and, in the case of single
palletising also the indexing cylinder pins, is pushed into the half shell shape at exactly the
correct position.
The angled surface at the locking groove has the effect of pulling the locating bolt and hence
the component to be clamped downwards on to the base plate.
With a torque of
30 Nm
at the clamping screw, the maximum pull-in force of
20 kN
is
achieved. Exceeding the maximum torque results in damage to the clamping mechanism.
When changing the clamped component use the clamping screw
-a-
(approx. 4 turns) to retract
the clamping bolt
-b-
from the locking groove
-c-
of the locating bolt.
Sequence of operation:
It does not matter which of
the two clamping screws is
operated first
For the sake of the best
possible repeatibility, it is
best to keep to the same
clamping sequence when
changing components.
