●
The part was assigned too high a position when
correlating with the chart. (Parts became too
thick).
The surface to be electroformed determines
the required power level. Compare the part to be
electroplated closely with the reference samples
in the comparison chart to ensure the most
accurate selection of the power level.
●
The power levels were set too high.
The power levels are directly related to the
calculated gold electrolyte volume.
Make a note of the power level for each part in
order to set correctly before the process com-
mences. (see deposition data).
see Section 9.
●
Magnetic agitator rod was left out, or the wrong
size was selected.
Insert (correct) magnetic agitator rod
●
The wrong electroforming thickness was selected.
You measured out the gold electrolyte for a
electroforming thickness of 0.2 mm, but later
selected 0.3 mm with the mode button.
see Section 2.
The crown copings are too thin.
●
There is dirt on the contacts.
Ensure that no dirt reaches the contact
surfaces.
●
The copper rod did not form a good contact.
Ensure that the top end of the copper rod is
not covered by shrink-fit tubing (leave approx.
1 cm free), and that it is inserted vertically into
the contact.
●
The part was assigned too low a position when
correlating with the chart.
The surface to be electroformed determines
the power level required. Compare the part to be
electroplated closely with the reference samples
in the comparison chart to ensure the most
accurate selection of the power level.
