Important:
When installing the tubing on the walls, cover pipe ends to prevent debris getting into them. Cooling
pipes must be free from grease and oil. During welding it is advisable to circulate nitrogen gently to avoid slag
formed by oxidation of the torch getting into the tubes.
If tubes run through very hot areas, near boilers etc., insulate both tubes.
After welding, use service valves to let nitrogen circulate with good flow rate through the tubes, in order to clean
them thoroughly, and remove remaining any moisture from the walls.
Once the interconnection has been completed, pull vacuum from the tubes and/or the evaporator if there are no
service valves in it, and charge with cooling gas applying high and low pressure.
If for any reason you can pull vacuum only from a single tube and also the evaporator, you need to heat the bulb of
the expansion valve, open it by hand and pull vacuum from the whole system.
After completion of interconnection and running the unit for a few hours, check through the viewing glass that oil
level is normal. If it is not, add oil as required.
Our units are fully charged at the factory. Installation with tube lengths of up to 5 meters require no additional gas.
Additional cooling gas charge (per meter of tube in liquid line):
Additional cooling gas for liquid lines of over 5 meters long
Liquid line diameter
For each additional meter of line
1/4”
add 8.5 g x meter
3/8”
add 17.3 g x meter
1/2”
add 33.6 g x meter
5/8”
add 53.2 g x meter
3/4”
add 78.2 g x meter
7/8”
add 108.5 g x meter
NOTE:
Once the installation of the system has been completed and after ½ hour of operation, check pressures and
charge of the unit, let high pressure reach 300 lbs, by partially covering the condenser coil, and check that low
pressure is in the range of 65 to 75 lbs approximately. Also check that compressor power consumption complies
with rated value per the catalog.
