Carel humidifier - Maintenance
Only applicable to air conditioners equipped with Carel humidifiers (Optional).
The usual maintenance measures are limited to cleaning (scaling) or changing the cylinder producing steam and
the general cleaning of the humidifier once every six months.
Cylinder maintenance:
This maintenance operation is necessary when the scale formed on the active surface of the electrodes prevents
appropriate current flow.
To remove the cylinder proceed as follows:
- For manual draining, drain completely the water making a jumper between
GND
Terminal and
ON
Terminal
located in the electronic board.
- Switch off power supply by means of the general thermo-magnetic circuit breaker.
- Disconnect the steam hose from the cylinder.
- Disconnect electrical wiring from the main electrodes and from high level electrodes.
- Remove cylinder clamp.
- Lift cylinder, then remove it.
The steam cylinder may usually be reused after cleaning the layers of salt covering the electrodes, which prevent
appropriate contact with water, hence current flow.
Clean electrodes mechanically or chemically with any commercially available descaling product.
However, if the electrodes do not allow its regeneration, the cylinder must be replaced. The replacement consists
only of the cylinder body and the gasket.
To replace the cylinder follow the steps above but in reverse order, after checking or replacing the fitting gasket in
the discharge group.
Refer to pictures of these elements in section 18.2 of this manual.
Operation Manual
This is an immersed electrode humidifier, with the latest microprocessor technology.
Its operation is fully automatic and it can be installed in any geographical area, thanks to its adaptation to different
physical and chemical characteristics of water.
This manual is limited in technical descriptions to make room for the pictures and information required for the
proper installation and starting-up of the appliance.
Operating Principle
A current is established by applying a voltage to three metal elements immersed in a water vessel, which heats the
water until boiling.
Although water contains a minimal amount of dissolved salts dissolved, it acts as an electrical resistance which
closes the circuit on the electrodes.
