Assembly | Operation
3. Mount the handle (B) on the motor Assy (A) by using the hex bolt.
Tighten the hex bolt securely.
4. The saw chain sharpener is assembled and ready for use. The already
mounted grinding disc (E) is a disc for universal use. For replacing the
grinding disc read the chapter “Changing the Grinding Disc”.
Operation
Before each use check all parts of the saw chain sharpener for proper and
correct function as well as for correct mounting. Especially inspect the
grinding disc, all mounting screws and protective devises for firm
mounting. Check whether all movable parts can turn freely.
Before connecting the machine to power mains, make sure the motor of
the saw chain sharpener is switched off, to avoid unintended starting.
Preparing and Setting the Unit:
1. Inspect the saw chain for the most worn-out cutter tooth and start
sharpening this tooth. The most worn-out cutter tooth is important in
order to sharpen all other teeth to the same depth.
2. Lift up the chain stop (Q).
3. Check the necessary angle according to the specifications for the saw
chain, for this, note the table on page 27 and adjust the top plate
cutting angle accordingly. Tighten the fixing screw (G).
4. Adjust the filing angle on the chain holder assembly (L) according to
the table and tighten the adjusting screw for the vice angle (J).
Common chainsaw chains have a top plate
cutting angle of 50° to 60° and a filing angle of
25° or 30°. The angles is usually printed on the
package of a new chain. If you do not know the
exact filing angle of your saw chain, it is nor-
mally sufficient to estimate it by sight. Position
the grinding disc (E), as shown in the drawing.
5. Place the saw chain between the guide boards (R).
6. Fold down the chain stop (Q) and pull back the first cutter tooth
against the chain stop.
