7. Take the sealing washer off the head and install it between the outside of the wall sheet and the nut, to
maintain the seal. Failure to turn the bolts around can lead to them interfering with the baffles and
distorting the wall sheets.
8. Align flanged outlet opening with bottom of wall sheet opening.
9. Hold the outlet in place and drill 7/16" (11mm) holes in the bin wall sheets to match the outlet.
10. Attach the flanged outlet with 3/8" gr8.2 bolts. (Holes may not match the corrugation exactly.)
11. Use caulking between the bin wall and the flange outlet to ensure the connection is weather-tight.
If the discharge outlet is located where two laminated wall sheets are used, an alternative reinforcing
method will be required.
Consult Westeel Engineering for further details on your specific application.
5.5. Side Draw Reinforcing Sheet Installation (15’ — 54’ Bins)
For some bin models a shorter reinforcing sheet needs to be added behind the opening to reinforce this area.
The following illustrations show the installation procedure.
1. Remove the center horizontal bolts, top and bottom.
2. Remove some existing horizontal seam bolts from the wall sheet that receives the side draw outlet.
3. Align and bolt the reinforcing sheet on to the wall sheet.

IMPORTANT:
For some specially designed bins, a heavier wall sheet may be provided for the discharge
opening. This will be noted in the special manual accompanying the bin. For these cases only, a side draw
reinforcing sheet will not be provided.
SIDE DRAW REINFORCING SHEET
For some Bin models a shorter reinforcing sheet needs to be added behind the opening to reinforce this
area. The views below describes the installation procedure and the chart explains which Bins require the
reinforcing sheet.
- Remove some existing horizontal seam bolts from the wall sheet that receives the sidedraw outlet.
- align and bolt the reinforcing sheet on to the wall sheet.
- Field drill the remaining assembly holes (13/32") using the reinforcing sheet as a template. Install 3/8 X
1.5" bolts and nuts
- Cutout discharge opening using the retro fit sheet as a template.
- Attach discharge assembly to outside and last baffle to inside.
