1.2 Device description
Type DVH 550 L, DVH 550 R and DVH 600 L rollers are hand-guided devices and are used for compaction
work in road building applications.
A Lombardi diesel engine provides the motive power for rollers DVH 550 L and DVH 600 L; motive power
for roller DVH 550 R is provided by a Robin gasoline engine.
Section 1.3 (Technical data) specifies which engine type (including performance data) is used in
which roller.
The two drums (1/10) are hydrostatically powered via chains. The chain drive is executed individually on
each bandage. The chain drive also serves as a safety braking system for operating on slopes. The vibrator
that is positioned outside between the two drums is powered via a V-belt.
The hydraulic system consists of a closed circuit with hydraulic pump and hydraulic motor as well as a
hydraulic tank (1/2).
The drums (1/10) are freed of adhering material by the adjustable scrapers (1/9).
A reversing starter (1/7) is used as the starting device for both versions (1/7).
The roller is steered with the hand guidance rod (1/1). All control levers are located on the hand guidance
rod. The throttle (1/13) for engine speed control. Direction of travel and speed are controlled with the safety
bar (1/16) (drive bar). The vibration adjustment lever (1/14) switches vibration on or off. The arrest lever (1/
12) activates the parking brake that stops the rear drum.
For safety of the operator a crush protection fixture (1/16) is attached to the hand guidance rod (1/1). If the
operator bumps against the crush protection device (1/16) when moving in reverse, the machine comes to
a stop.
