Malfunctions
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
A. I am unable to increase or decre-
ase the flames. The motor remote
control is not working.
1.
The remote control and receiver are not
communicating properly.
2. The batteries are empty.
3. The receiver is broken.
4. The remote control is broken.
5. The motor cable has been damaged/snapped.
6.
The 8-pin cable’s plug/connection has been
damaged.
7.
The receiver’s functioning is impaired by
environmental factors such as metal.
1. Press the receiver’s
RESET
button until you hear two audio
signals. After the second, longer signal, release the
RESET
button
and within 20 seconds, press button
A
(
small flame
) on the
remote control and keep pressing it until you hear an extra long
audio signal. This indicates that the new code setting has been
confirmed.
2. Replace the batteries in the remote control, or those in the receiver
if it is not hooked up to the mains.
3. Replace the receiver and then complete the steps listed under
solution 1.
4. Replace the remote control and then complete the steps listed
under solution 1.
5. Replace the motor cable.
6. Check the plug for any bent pins, and/or replace the cable.
7. Make sure that the receiver’s antenna is not touching any metal. If
needed, reposition the receiver.
B. No ignition
1. The remote control on the gas block is set to
MAN
.
2. The ignition cable is touching metal parts.
1. Turn the button on the remote control to the left
, to
ON
.
2. Make sure the ignition cable is not touching any metal parts. This
will ensure that the ignition sparks more strongly. You may also
need to replace the cable.
C. No audio signal
1. The receiver is faulty.
1. Replace the receiver and then complete the steps listed under
solution A.1.
D. A long 5-second audio signal.
1. The wires have come loose.
2. The receiver has been damaged.
3.
The 8-pin cable’s plug/connection has been
damaged.
4. The magnetic valve has been damaged.
1. Check the wiring and make sure everything is hooked up correctly.
2. Replace the receiver and then complete the steps listed under
solution A.1.
3. Check the plug for any bent pins, and/or replace the cable.
4. Replace the gas control block.
E. No pilot flame.
1. There is air in the pipe.
2.
The thermocouple wires are hooked up
incorrectly.
3. The pilot flame burner does not ignite.
1. Vent the pipe and/or initiate the ignition process several times in a
row.
2. Check whether the poles on the thermocouple wiring are hooked
up correctly.
3. Make sure the ignition cable is not touching any metal parts. Check
all of the connections. You may also need to replace the cable.
F. The ignition keeps sparking.
1. The receiver has been damaged.
1. Replace the receiver and then complete the steps listed under
solution A.1.
G. The pilot flame is burning, but
the magnetic valve closes off the
gas supply after around 10 se-
conds as the system heats up.
1. The thermocouple is not functioning properly.
2. The batteries are (almost) empty.
1. Measure the tension by hooking the cables up to cable lug.
The tension must reach at least 5 mV within 20 seconds.
It cannot be any lower than that once the system is warmed up.
If the tension is too low…
- the thermocouple must be repositioned so that it is closer to the
flame.
- the thermocouple needs to be replaced.
1.2 If the pilot flame is too small, correct this defect.
1.3 Check the wiring from the thermocouple to the receiver. If needed,
replace the wiring.
2. Replace the battery.
H. There are no sparks, but I can
hear multiple audio signals. I can-
not hear the ticking sound that
indicates the magnetic valve is
opening.
1. The batteries are (almost) empty.
1. Replace the batteries.
I. The pilot flame is burning, but
the main burner fails to ignite.
1. The remote control on the gas block is set to
MAN
.
2. The system is set to the pilot flame setting.
3. The gas inlet pressure is too low.
4. The magnetic valve has been damaged.
1. Turn the button on the remote control to the left
, to
ON
.
2. Increase the flames by pressing button
A
(
small flame
).
3. Check the gas inlet pressure on the system. It must be in line with
the system requirements. Insufficient pressure may be caused by
the supply pipe (too long/too thin). You may need to contact your
gas supply company.
4. Replace the gas control block.
