The speed of water flow of analyte water along the membrane should be min 

5 cm/s. In stationary fluid the measurements would lower slowly. 

The measuring process before getting the fixed value is max 2 min. 

 

Notes

 

1  If  the  temperature  of  the  probe  and  aquatic  environment  differs,  the 

readout setting time is 3-5 min. 

2 If there is no stir bar, it is recommended to submerge in the flask glass or 

plastic balls and stir arm circling the flask till the readout set (about 2 min). 

 

If  values  of  dissolved  oxygen  decrease  slowly  and  do  not  set  in  admitted 

time, then there may be air bubbles on the membrane. If so, it is important:  

  while measuring in reservoir, stir the probe harshly leaving it submerged in 

the water; 

  while measuring in BOD flask, invert the flask with the probe in it and stir. 

In viscous medium it is necessary to clean the membrane from time to time 

(para.2.6.2).
