If the display shows “OL”, the capacity already lies outside the permis-
sible measurement range.
If the capacity to be measured is too low, the self-capacitance of the
instrument and test leads can falsify the measured value. You can use
the “REL function” to perform automatic compensation of the self-
capacitance. Leave the measurement input open and save the value
as a reference using “REL”. The self-capacitance has already been
accounted for with the following measured value displays.

Non-contact voltage detection
Remove both test leads.
Select non-
contact voltage detection “NCV” with the rotary switch.
Approach the line to be tested with the tips of the current clamp.
WARNING
Never connect test leads to the measurement sockets in this operat-
ing mode. This operating mode serves the non-contact detection of
AC voltages or strong electromagnetic fields.
