If the instrument detects a suffi-
ciently strong electric field (>100 V,
clearance <10 mm), an acoustic
and optical (LED) signal will be is-
sued. Depending on the field
strength, one or more cross bars
will appear in the display, otherwise
“EF” will be displayed. Maintain a
shorter distance (<10 mm) from the
line to be tested, otherwise detec-
tion will not occur.
