d) Temperature measurement
During temperature measurement, only the temperature sensor must be sub-
ject to the temperature to be measured. The meter working temperature must
not be undercut or exceeded. otherwise, there may be measuring errors.
The contact temperature sensor must only be used at voltage-free surfaces.
The meter contains a wire sensor that can measure up to temperatures of -20 to +180 °C.
To use the full measuring range (-20 to +760 °C) of the multimeter, optional type-K thermo
sensors are available. To connect type K sensors with miniature plugs, the enclosed adapter
plug is needed.
Any type K thermo sensor may be used for temperature measurement. The temperature
values can be displayed in °C or °F.
for measuring temperatures, proceed as follows:
- Turn the DMM on and select measuring range “°C”.
The temperature measurement symbols now appear in
the display.
- Plug the included adapter plug into the v measuring
jack (9) in the correct polarity with the red plug (plus)
and into the COM measuring jack (8) with the black
plug (minus).
- Plug the miniature plug of the temperature sensor into
the adapter plug in the proper polarity as well. The
plug will only fit into the adapter in the correct polarity.
Therefore, do not apply any force if the plug does not fit.
Reverse the plug. The polarity is marked at the adapter
and at the plug.
- The display shows the temperature value in °C.
- The “MODE” button can be used to switch the unit from
°C to °F. Every time you push the button, you switch
the unit.
- If “OL” appears on the display, the measuring range
has been exceeded or the sensor is interrupted.
- After measuring, remove the sensor and turn off the DMM.
