X – Convertible top: perform water test.
• Applies only to Golf Cabriolet and Beetle Cabriolet
X – Sunroof seal: regrease.
• Applies only to Phaeton
X – Sliding sunroof drains: check for blockage, clean if necessary.
• Applies only to Touareg and Passat (NMS-US)
Underside of vehicle
X – Engine oil: drain and renew oil filter.
X – Engine and components in engine compartment: inspect for leaks and
damage (from below).
X – Gearbox, final drive and drive shaft boots: inspect for leaks and damage.
X – Brakes, front and rear: check thickness of pads/linings and condition of
brake discs.
X – Poly V-belt: check condition.
X – Swivel joints, axle mountings, coupling rod bearings and anti-roll bar rub‐
ber mounting: inspect for damage.
X – Track rod ball joints: check clearance, firm seating and boots.
X – Brake system: inspect for leaks and damage.
X – Exhaust system: inspect for leaks, firm seating and damage.
X – Underbody: inspect for damage to undercoating, underbody cladding,
routing of lines, plugs.
X – Front and rear coil springs and rubber buffers: inspect for damage.
X – Warning stickers: check that they are present.
• Applies only to high-voltage vehicles
X – Removable original towing bracket: check.
• If fitted.
X – Air suspension: check for leaks and damage.
• Applies only to Touareg and Phaeton
X – Sunroof: check function, clean guide rails and lubricate with special
grease.
X – Automatic gearbox: check ATF level.
• Applies only to Phaeton
Tyres
X – Tyre pressure: check.
X – Tyre mobility set: check for damage and use.
