The electrodes can be cleaned with a swab, or a non-velvet soft cloth dipped in medical alcohol. DO

An instrument used in the detection of heart 
abnormalities. It measures electrical potentials on 
the body surface and generates a record of the electrical 
currents associated with heart muscle activity.

The number of heartbeats per unit time, 
usually in minutes. 

1mm = 0.1mV 
5mm = 0.5mV
