Type

Selects the type of IDE hard drive. The options are

Auto

, (which allows the BIOS to

automatically determine the hard drive's capacity, number of heads, etc.), a number
from 1-39 to select a predetermined type of hard drive, CDROM and ATAPI
Removable. The option "User" will allow the user to enter the parameters of the HDD
installed at this connection. The option "Auto" will allow the BIOS to automatically
configure the parameters of the HDD installed at the connection. Choose the option 1-
39 to select a predetermined HDD type. Select CDROM if a CDROM drive is installed.
Select ATAPI if a removable disk drive is installed.

CHS Format

The following items will be displayed by the BIOS:

This item displays the type of IDE or SATA Device

Cylinders:

This item indicates the status of Cylinders.

Headers:

This item indicates the number of headers.

Sectors:

This item displays the number of sectors.

Maximum Capacity:

This item displays the maximum storage capacity of the system.

LBA Format

The following items will be displayed by the BIOS:

Total Sectors:

This item displays the number of total sectors available in the LBA

Format.

Maximum Capacity:

This item displays the maximum capacity in the LBA Format.

Multi-Sector Transfers

This item allows the user to specify the number of sectors per block to be used in multi-
sector transfer. The options are

Disabled

, 4 Sectors, 8 Sectors, and 16 Sectors.

LBA Mode Control

This item determines whether the Phoenix BIOS will access the IDE Channel 0 Master
Device via the LBA mode. The options are Enabled and

Disabled.

32 Bit I/O

This option allows the user to enable or disable the function of 32-bit data transfer. The
options are Enabled and

Disabled

.

Transfer Mode

This option allows the user to set the transfer mode. The options are
